Writing Coach
Do you need a discussion with someone to help you to formulate your ideas and figure out where you are going with your characters and plot? Sometimes, just talking a scene through is all you need to get the perspective you need and turn those random thoughts and flashes of pictures into a cohesive scene.
These are available by phone or by Zoom, with or without cameras, however you feel most comfortable.
Email consultations are also available at the same rates. I charge for the time taken to read your notes and then respond with my thoughts about how they could be progressed/formulated. For an average comparison, I can edit/respond at a rate of approximately 1,000 words per hour. that is 2 A4 pages, font size 12 in arial or times new roman, single spaced.

Beta Reading
Your book/story is finished and you would like someone to read through it and pick out any pacing issues/inconsistencies/plot holes?
This is a basic read through – not a line edit where you will receive a written report from me listing any issues that I find including but not exclusive to plot holes, point of view, perspectives, inconsistencies, descriptions (too much or not enough) and concept.
£10 per 1,000 words.
Line Edit
This is a full read through on word using track changes with explanations of my changes in the comments on the side bar. Each identified issue is highlighted and my recommendation is suggested. Any straight forward grammar, punctuation changes will be changed and identified with track changes allowing you to change back if you wish. Structural changes and suggestions will be highlighted and commented upon but not changed allowing you to make the decision as to how you wish the story to proceed.
£30 per 1,000 words.
A second read through of the same piece of work following your reworking – £15.00 per 1,000 words.
Developmental Edit
This concentrates on how the story has developed and provides a more in-depth analysis of the character, plot/s and story flow. My written feedback will include chapter analysis including believability/confusion, conflict, pacing, character progression and inconsistencies.
This does not include a line by line edit.

Wellbeing Writing Courses
It is amazing how the power of writing down your feelings, or how a story can come from nowhere with just a trigger or a prompt.
These sessions will help to unlock the hidden power you hold within yourselves to release tension and learn how to use writing to increase your mood and self-esteem.
No previous writing experience necessary, no expectation to read your work in public if you don’t want to. This is about the journey of exploration of your inner writing talent and is for you to take at a pace and level of involvement that suits you.
